A .MOV file format is an Apple QuickTime digital video file format that serves as a container file for digitally encoded media, including video, audio, and subtitles, as well as reference data. Converting MOV to DVD is very simple and easy if you have the right tool. I have tested a number of software capable of converting MOV to DVD but I recommend only one tool that will do perfectly for this job - ConvertXtoDVD. ConvertXtoDVD is very powerful and very easy to use. Its high video and audio output quality makes this tool the perfect choice for MOV to DVD conversion. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to convert MOV to DVD using ConvertXtoDVD. Requirements:
For system requirements and installation guide click ConvertXtoDVD Installation Guide. Getting Started Step 1: Load a blank DVD media into your DVD writer. Step 2: Open ConvertXtoDVD program.
Step 3: Click on the green button on the upper right corner to add the .MOV file that you want to convert.
Browse to the folder where you saved your .MOV files. Select the file you want to add and then click the Open button.
Note: You can add as many MOV files as you can and ConvertXtoDVD will automatically compress them to fit in a single DVD. However, this can decrease the video’s quality because of too much compression. Always remember that the smaller the file size the better its quality will be. Step 4: Choose the type of playback you want for your DVD. Double click on DVD Options or click on the “+” to expand DVD options.
Auto-start Playback – select this option if you want to skip the menu and play the title immediately Step 5: Customize the background and the title by double clicking on the Title Menu parameters. To change any settings, just double click on the desired parameter. After making any changes, you can click on the preview button.
Step 6: Once you are satisfied with your settings you can then click on the convert button to start the conversion process. Ensure that a blank DVD is in your DVD drive before you start converting.
Once the conversion process completes, convertXtoDVD will automatically detect the DVD media in your drive and start the burning process in 10 seconds. Hence, it is no longer necessary to click on the “Burn” button. In the possibility that the program fails to detect the inserted media, it will automatically burn the converted file as ISO into your hard drive and will set off a 15-second countdown before it starts the burning process. Quickly change the setting by clicking on the dropdown menu and select your DVD writer to stop the countdown. Then replace and insert a new disc and click “Burn” to start the process.
When DVD burning is over, click on the OK button to complete it and to automatically eject the disc. Should you want to burn another movie, simply repeat steps 1 to step 6.
