Convert and Burn MP4 to DVD

MPEG-4 is a highly popular collection of multimedia container formats used to collectively store digital audio and video streams in a file extension .MP4. It is one of the most efficient coding formats, achieving high quality video in relatively low bitrates. Because of this, MP4 has succeeded AVI as the lingua franca of digital media consumerism.

As such, almost all modern devices support or exclusively runs on MP4—iPod, iPhone, Zune, Apple TV, PS3, Creative Zen and PSP to name a few.

Because of its wide-ranging utilization, support for MP4 is extensive. It’s very easy to burn MP4 to DVD as there is a wealth of DVD burning software that can burn MP4 to DVD. Even modern DVD media players can play MP4; you can directly copy MP4 to DVD and play MP4 in DVD player without the need of first converting MP4 to DVD structure.

However, the best approach of making DVD movies from MP4 video is still converting them to a DVD structure and directory. This allows for a lot of cool options which you can add: DVD menus with title and background music, themes and wallpaper, menus, subtitles, chapter selections, screenshot gallery—you get the drift. Except for subtitles, MP4 can’t contain these features. These options are contained in .VOB and .IFO files which are exclusive to the DVD-Video format.

To do this, you will need a converter tool to convert MP4 to DVD directory. Then you will need a DVD burning tool to burn the DVD directory to a blank DVD. Also, if you need to author some features in, you need a DVD authoring tool. For this project, Cucusoft Ultimate DVD Maker and Video Converter or DVD Next Copy SimpleX are worth considering; both can handle MP4 conversions to DVD directory, authoring DVD features as well as DVD burning.
