  • At least 3GB of hard disk space

Getting Started

Step 1: Insert the copy protected DVD into your DVD drive.

Step 2: Open Plato DVD Ripper program.

Step 3: Click on “Output” at the top menu to configure the file’s output format and select its location in your hard disk.

You can select the format by clicking on the appropriate button or icon at the top to change the parameters, or retain the default settings.  You can also change the output folder for the saved file by clicking on the blue button with a magnifying glass beside the “Output Folder:” text box.

After setting up the settings, click on the “Ok” button to proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Click on “Open” at the top menu, and select the “Open from dvd disc…” option.  The program will automatically detect the drive as well as the DVD inserted in it. If it is unable to detect a media, simply click on the refresh button. If you have more than one drive, make sure the correct drive is being selected. Just click on the drop down menu to change the current drive and then click "Ok" to proceed.

Step 5:  Clicking “OK” from the previous step automatically plays and fast forwards the disk to the main movie.  This also opens the Record Mode Option window where you can choose to (1) convert from the current time to the end of the movie, or (2) manually set the beginning and end time of content.  After selecting an option, click “OK” to start the ripping process.  You will see the conversion status at the right pane of the program

When the conversion is done, click on the “Ok” button to confirm.  To view the ripped file, just open the directory location of the output folder that you set in step #3.
