Using Next Copy DVD to burn copy protected DVDs

Because of the law in some countries including the US that prohibits distribution of software that has the ability to copy commercial movies, DVD neXt Copy has made changes to their software that can only copy personally authored DVDs and non-protected DVD movies.

However, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) passed in 1998 does not expressly prohibit consumers from making backup copies of digital works - only the sale & distribution of tools that circumvent copy prevention technologies. So meaning you can still copy protected DVD movies for the sole purpose of creating backup copies only and not for commercial gain.

In order to copy encrypted or protected DVD movies with DVD neXt Copy software a 3rd party plug-in software is needed or a DVD decrypter that decrypts or unlock the copy protection of your DVD Movies before DVD neXt Copy can continue copying your DVD.

All you need to do is download and install either of the two software and it will automatically do the decrypting or unlocking of the copy protection. You can download a free copy of either of the two software from platinumripper.com and dvd43.com respectively. Make sure the DVD neXt Copy software is close before running the installation. After installing any of the two programs you can then proceed copying your encrypted DVD movie using DVD neXt Copy just like the way you normally do. No more additional settings or configuration needed for as long as it’s successfully installed.

If you have chosen to install DVD43 you will see a yellow happy face icon located in your task bar near the system time. After loading the copy protected DVD that you want to copy into your DVD burner/drive, the yellow happy face icon will then turn into green in just a matter of seconds that means that DVD43 has successfully unlock its protection and is now ready for copying.
