How to Burn a DVD with Windows 7 DVD Burning Software
Microsoft’s new windows operating system now has an easy to use DVD burning software that’s already integrated into the system. It provides an easy to understand navigation system, and a DVD burning wizard that I’m sure most novice users would appreciate. A feature that stands out is the DVD maker’s drag-and-drop or a copy-and-paste system, where users can use to create DVDs using media and files directly from their folders. Burning a DVD using the Windows 7 DVD burning software is quick and easy.
Here are some instructions on how to use the Windows 7 onboard DVD burning software. To start the Windows 7 DVD burner, click on start and select windows DVD maker, you will then be presented with a wizard to start the burning process:

After proceeding, you will now have a window where you can drag and drop or copy and paste files directly into the window, or you can click on “add items” so you can browse to different folders on your hard drive. You can also monitor the available space on your DVD at the bottom of the window, here you can also enter your own DVD title; it is set by default to the date when you opened the program. After you copied everything you want burned on your DVD, just click on next and follow the wizard and your done!

The software is convenient and easy to use. Its key feature is simplicity. For novice users, it is quite adequate for simple DVD making needs. An area where it performs poorly is its supported formats. It only supports a number of popular formats like WMV and unfortunately does not support AVI or MP4. This is the main reason why most people choose to burn their DVD's using a third party DVD Burning Software.  While the onboard DVD burning software on Windows 7 may not have advance features, it is reliable enough to burn simple home DVD's as it handles this job pretty well.
