Getting Started

Step 1: If you want to copy protected DVDs with 1Click DVD Copy Pro, you need to download and install DVD43 program. It is a DVD decryption software that you can download for free at dvd43.com. This software will run in the background and will do the hard work of decrypting or unlocking the actual CSS encryption or copy protection of the DVD so that 1Click DVD Copy Pro can continue copying your DVD. All you need to do is install this program and it will do the rest. For a step-by-step guide on how to install DVD43 click DVD43 Installation Guide.

Step 2: Insert the DVD that you want to copy into your source DVD drive. If it is a copy protected DVD, DVD43 will automatically detect and decrypt it. The process will just take a few seconds. The smiley face icon will turn green when it is ready.

Step 3: Open 1Click DVD Copy Pro.

Step 4: Set the following options: choose your source drive, destination drive, working folder and the copy preset options. If you only have one drive, select that drive for the source and the destination. It will just prompt you to insert the blank DVD prior to burning. Make sure you have enough hard disk space for your working folder. At least 4.7GB if you are copying a single layer DVD or 9GB if you are copying a dual layer DVD. For the copy preset option there are six options that you can choose from. Choose carefully what option you want.

Step 5: Ripping and Transcoding Process. Before the actual burning took place, it will undergo a ripping and transcoding process where the source DVD will be ripped and transcoded or converted into DVD format in your hard drive to the location you set in the working folder before burning into DVD.

To start the ripping and transcoding process click on the start button at the bottom. This will take a while depending on the file size that you are going to copy. Just wait until it will eject and prompts you to insert the blank DVD. If the ripping and transcoding process will fail for some reasons, try to do the following:

  • check if you have enough disk space on the working folder that you set
  • eject and check the DVD for scratch or dirt, to repair a scratch DVD click How to repair a scratch DVD
  • clean the DVD if necessary
  • close all programs and restart your computer
  • back to step 2

Step 6: Burning Process. Once the ripping and transcoding process is completed, 1Clcik DVD copy will automatically eject the DVD and prompts you to insert a blank DVD. After inserting the blank DVD, the software will detect the media and enable the Burn button to let you start the burning process. Go ahead and click the Burn button. Wait and relax until the burning process is done. Normally it will take about 30mins to copy a single layer DVD but the time will vary depending on how fast your system is.

There are a lot of possible reasons why the burning process will fail. Avoid browsing the net or checking your emails while the burning process is ongoing to avoid burning problems. If it fails during burning, try to do the following:

  1. remove the media from the drive
  2. close all programs
  3. restart your computer
  4. repeat step 2-6 (use a different blank DVD and try to lower the burning speed)

Once the burning process is completed, removed the disc and click on the OK button. Program will automatically close after clicking the OK button. Test the new disc to see if you have successfully created a copy. If you wish to make another copy of DVD repeat step 2 to step 6.
