In order to play the games that you have copied you need to modify your gaming console. This can be a daunting task for beginners. There are many ways on how to modify your gaming console. The most common way is to install a modchip - a device that will bypass any protections like digital rights, region coding, etc. Each gaming console has its own specific modchip depending on what type and version. The core function of a modchip is to replace the factory bios with another to override any protection during boot up. Alternative Methods

Another method for PS2 users is to use a Boot Disc. This method does not require you to open the console case or solder some wires. This will work just like using a modchip but if this method is not installed properly it will greatly reduce the lifespan of your PS2. The best thing you need to do is buy a kit and follow the instructions carefully which will be provided along with the kit.

For XBOX and XBOX 360 users, another way to play your copied games is to change the BIOS of the XBOX so that it will no longer check for any digitally signed games. There are a lot of tutorials that will guide you on how to flash the BIOS of your XBOX.

For Wii users, you can opt for the HomebreWare – software that will allow your Wii console to play homebrew applications and play backup and imported games without modchip. There’s also another method which requires you to create a special cable and plug it to your serial port on your PC and then solder the other ends to a certain points on your Wii’s DVD Drive. This method is quite complicated and must require a higher level of technical expertise.

Whatever methods you prefer, always check if it will work with the current version of the gaming console that you have.
