WebDVD OR Enhanced DVD E-mail
There is a modern and impressive development on its way into the minority of DVD Video titles.  WebDVD is a powerful yet simple idea of integrating Internet technology with DVD content. It is a complete result of the quick boost in computers equipped with DVD-ROM and third-party add-on drive selling to buyers.  Basically, WebDVD is the enrichment of DVD with HTML links, pages and scripting.  It is enahncing a Web site using a content from a DVD drive.  Essentially, this is not a new idea.  This has been done with CD-Rom for years now.  The sole disparities with DVD are that the quality or the video and audio are now enhanced than TV, and the discs can be played in low-price set top players.

As long as you have the correct MPEG-2 decoding hardware and a tough DVD-Video navigation program, you can play Hollywood movies on your desktop or mini-tower, laptop.  The capacity to play back high-resolution video and audio, attached with the Internet- makes DVD very promising.  The much-criticized “world wide wait” becomes practically immediate with the victorious hybridization of the Internet and disc-resident media possessions. Finally the Internet presents more than poor-quality video, more than plain animations, snail’s-paced convenience, and compromised audio.

WebDVD‘s possibilities for entertainment are massive.  Try to imagine yourself “unlocking” extra segments of the TV series issue on DVD, or letting music buyers acquire catalogs of their most wanted artist or record album from the disc existing in their drives.   On the business side, a bigger role will be played by the Web-connected DVD Hybrids.  Naturally, marketing and sales productions necessitate maximum-quality video and audio media, paired with screens of textual data.  Although it could be possible to build a DVD-Video title enclosing a complete presentation, the disc would briefly become dated.  If considered instead as a warehouse for videos, graphics, and audio media – and an HTML Web site is programmed to access them – a combination so great would be produced.

Few DVD-Video/DVD-ROM hybrid titles are competent of connecting to the Internet.  This number will intensify significantly once DVD-ROM drives develop into standards components.  The necessity to download convincing content stills exists while a plain connection to a given Web site does not offer anything extraordinary.  And when extra content that can be gradually “unlocked” is positioned on the disc, the coming days will truly be brighter.  Indeed!
