How to burn an AVI to DVD E-mail
The process to burn an AVI to DVD is simple and not as complicated as copying a copy protected DVD movie. Basically you would need software that is capable of converting the AVI movie to DVD Video compliant MPEG-2 format and then burn the movie in MPEG2 format to the DVD.

In this article we are going to show you how to convert an AVI movie into DVD video complaint MPEG2 format using an encoder software called TMPGEnc because it is very user friendly to use and produces very good quality MPEG-2 videos that can be directly burnt on a DVD.

Here is a step by step description on How to burn AVI to DVD:

1. To begin conversion of AVI to MPEG2 using TMPGEnc first create a new TMPGEnc project. A simple way of doing this is by using the TMPGEnc wizard.

2. Next select the Video Format. The best choice to begin with can be DVD - NTSC and DVD PAL.

3. Next you have to select the source video. On the second page of the wizard you have to click on the Browse button and then select the AVI file that you wish to convert into DVD compliant MPEG2.

4. By default TMPGEnc recognized all the correct values automatically based on the AVI file you selected. Usually there is no need to change any of the values unless you are very sure about it.

5. Aspect ratio should be left as 1:1 (VGA).

6. On third page, the top three checkboxes should be left intact in most of the cases. But you should click the Other settings button.

7. Other settings - This opens up a new window, where you can define the encoding parameters more accurately. The most important selection here is the one that says Motion search precision. You should definitely change this to highest quality (very slow) as this setting produces much better video quality than the default settings do.

8. Bitrate settings - In bitrate settings page (fourth page of the project wizard), you can adjust the encoding settings of the video, including the bitrate and the resolution.

9. Select the destination - First, remember to select the checkbox that says Output video and audio as individual elementary streams. Then, click the Browse button and locate a directory on your hard drive that has approximately 4.5GB of free space in it, select a name for the output video file and click Save.

Make sure the Start encoding immediately is selected and click Next and go to sleep, TMPGEnc will now encode the video file and this can take up to 20hrs or even more with slower machine.

Once you have a DVD video compliant MPEG2 file you can easily burn this file using any of your favorite DVD Burning software and finish your AVI to DVD burn process.
